Trading is a reality in the spirit realm as much as it is a reality in the physical. Entire books have been witen on this subject but let me give you a brief explanation. Trading takes many forms. For example, trading in the heavens is by going into God's presence, trading what Christ did to receive what He desires us to manifest on the earth. Places where trading occurs are called "trading floors." There are positive and negative trading floors. There has been trading on positive trading floors from the beginning of time but Lucifer was the first to trade on a negative trading floor.
In Ezekiel 28, God leads Ezekiel to prophesy again the King of Tyre, a real King over Tyre named Ethbaal III and ruled from 591–573 BC. However, this is one of several prophecies that have more than one reference. The dual fulfillment of this passage is made abundantly clear in verses 13-15:
"You were in Eden, the garden of God;
Every precious stone was your covering:
The sardius, topaz, and diamond,
Beryl, onyx, and jasper,
Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold.
The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes
Was prepared for you on the day you were created.
You were the anointed cherub who covers;
I established you;
You were on the holy mountain of God;
You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.
You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created,
Till iniquity was found in you."
Clearly, the king of Tyre was never an anointed cherub in Eden, on the holy mountain of God, etc. In verse 16, we see a reference to his trading:
“By the abundance of your trading
You became filled with violence within,
And you sinned;
Therefore I cast you as a profane thing
Out of the mountain of God;
And I destroyed you, O covering cherub,
From the midst of the fiery stones.
It is believed by many that one of the responsibilities of Lucifer was to teach mankind how to trade. The fiery stones are actually trading floors and many people have engaged them in the spirit. As Lucifer "walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire," (Ezekiel 28:14 KJ2000) we are called to do the same. In Lucifer's case, he became jealous of mankind, who is created in God's image, and is called to eventually judge the world and even the angels (1 Corinthians 6:2-3). This would explain why Ezekiel 28:28:16 says that in his trading, Lucifer became "filled with violence within." Lucifer, the light-bearer became Satan, the accuser.
“How you are fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the morning!
How you are cut down to the ground,
You who weakened the nations!
13 For you have said in your heart:
‘I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;
I will also sit on the mount of the congregation
On the farthest sides of the north;
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,
I will be like the Most High.’
Trading is also clearly portrayed in the temptation of Jesus.
Understand that this is a concept, like many others, that are not explicit in Scripture. The Bible is God's autobiography and points us to Christ, but it is not going to detail every spiritual reality (John 21:25). The Holy Spirit leads us into all truth (John 16:13). Through love and intimacy with God, we can experience these realities and many people have written extensively about these realities. These are trustworthy people there is also agreement on their experiences, lending me to accept their reality without personal experience yet. However, my intent is to experience them as soon as possible.
